Purvis street has a stretch of exciting restaurants. One of which was J's which I believe I've blogged about it before some time back.. This time, I shall share about the Thai restaurant which I've been craving to have.. 

I don't think anyone of us would need help with a night out on a Friday in Singapore. There's plenty of places to go and just so much to eat and drink.  Me being a workaholic hasn't been going around much. Hence, today was a rare occasion when I actually stepped out of office and have my fill of TGIF!  First stop: Creation Cafe at Shaw Tower Not too far away from the famous Ah Loy Thai and Tom's Palette, this cafe serves really affordable and mouthwatering dishes. Imagine your typical spaghetti in sauces such as Java Curry and Laksa cream of even Thai Curry. Do they not have sounded delicious already? They simply play around the ingredients with the type of sauces so you get like a whole list of pasta choices. 'My first trip to malacca eat what ah?' If you're like me, who hasn't been here in ages or are traveling here for the first time, you might find this pretty useful :) Going Malacca  for nonya food is a typical reason why you're going there. Be it a weekend trip or a longer holiday, there is surely plenty of food to keep you occupied.  I'd just share some of which I ate during my latest trips here.   Nonya food wise, I tried two restaurants. Makko Restaurant is located diagonally across Hatten Hotel. Take a stroll down the shop houses on the right and you should see it. Red painted windows and walls will draw you towards it. They do take reservations on the spot itself. You can go in earlier, write down your name and hang around while waiting for their call.  Below are some of the food which i find worth ordering here. Keong Saik road is a row of low rise shophouses with a variety of eateries ranging from bars to coffee shops to hip cafes. Recently, there has been so much hype. There is The Library, 49 Seats, Bread and Hearth, Lola's Cafe and many more.. But who would have realized, amongst all these trendy places, you get to also indulge in some delicious tzechar?  Kok Sen Restaurant's location is strategic and won't be hard to find. Just walk down the lane of shops from 49 Seats and you'd get there.  Specialties are all over the walls together with their awards from various local food experts such as Makansutra.  This unpretentious coffeeshop-like restaurant has much to offer... Firstly, the stir fried frog leg.. The meat was a little tough but overall, it's tasty and has lots of fresh ginger and spring onions.  Good and bad but I still prefer the claypot kung po version with lots of sauce to go with the carbs.  Claypot Yong Tau Fu is the winning dish.  Why do I say so?...

Love affair with Kazan Ramen... Our Kazan Karamiso ($18 for normal sized; $15 for small) comes with a small bowl of white rice to be eaten after the noodles is finished. Add in the white rice, stir and tada, miso porridge is ready for consumption! Soup is poured in and closed for a minute before you mix in the spicy minced pork miso sauce. The hot stone retains the heat within the ramen such that it lasts through to the last drop of soup. For people who loves their food piping hot, you will enjoy this tremendously. And, I'm always a fan.    The hot stone fried chicken curry rice is beyond expectations. Look at the bubbling curry gravy that surrounds the grains of rice and topped with three tender chunks of fried chicken. For $11, I totally feel that it's a steal!  Also, the kimchi with pork on rice is the other hot stone rice dishes served here. I feel that it's a little lacking in flavour because the kimchi sauce was quite little and there isn't any additional gojujang...

Authentic Sichuan cuisine with a view- Si Chuan Dou Hua restaurant is located at the one of the most prominent building in the CBD. On the 60th story, this chinese restaurant is a place you want to spend an evening with your business partners or a casual dim sum lunch.  This restaurant has been around for a long time and I cannot believe this is my first time dining here. Having read so much about it before, my expectations and excitement to have a taste of the food there was beyond expressions.  We were welcomed with warm greetings by the smartly dressed waiters to our table. I tried to reserve for a table near the glass windows but they declined my request saying it is for four diners and above. A chinese lady in cheongsum poured tea for us promptly upon settling down.
