Custard Tart From Balmoral Bakery @ Sunset Way





I love anything with custard. But this is the first time i'm trying a custard tart, and it's omgosh, SWEETNESS TTM!!!<3 The aroma of freshly baked pastries is just irresistable. When he passed this to me, i'm like overload with happiness. Trying something i've been longing to try, u made my dream come true. Thanks! The crust is crumbly and baked to perfection, i believe even when u eat it cold, it's just as nice. Check out the thickness of the custard filling in the first photo. OH! And you do know there's a range of custard desserts, such as custard baos, which i think it's an awesome dimsum! I'm gonna thank the person who invented this superb recipe for custard fillings. WHY SO AWESOME!

I know it can be frustrating if you can't make up your mind between the three roasted meat stalls and four other dim sum stalls. They all look the same but you know surely one of those stalls is the famous one which your grandparents and parents grew up eating.  Today, I'd introduce to you one of the best dimsum and roast meats non-restaurant style, together with some new findings in the current People's Park Complex.  It has been a long while since I last wowed at the dimsum before me. Little India Food Trail

Every time i head to Little India or Farrer Park, i will have a headache thinking about what to eat there. Besides Banana Leaf Apollo which is a luxury, or the Komala Vilas because you see them at every corner? Would you have thought Little India could also have some good Chinese hawker cuisine to offer?  JOURNEY STARTS HERE! That day a friend posted on my wall 'South Buona Vista Road Duck Rice Returns' and it just so happens to be located 5 minutes walk from Farrer Park Mrt Station... Not surprising, i expected to see a flock of old and new customers alike after the newspaper feature. But there was no queue! If you have been to the Hup Seng Duck Rice at Sin Ming Road, you will know what i mean. Tendon Kohaku's 2nd outlet!

Ever since I chanced upon Tendon Hokaku (even though I've read so much about it before that plus all the instagram spams on my wall) at its 1st outlet at Suntec, been missing it. Just that the queue can be quite a pain especially during the peak hours. So there's also peak periods for dining nowadays!  It's opening at Circular Road last week has caused such a hype especially amongst the working crowd in the area. CBD IS HAPPENING TOO!    Quickly, the queue has formed with longer queue times as the days go by. I went on a Wednesday at 1pm and the waiting time was 15 mins, better than I expected. Then on Thursday, it became 40 mins. I'm not sure how long it'll be in the days to come. But if you all agree with me, the perpetual queue is a good sign too!    The cosy outlet has about 6-7 tables and some counter seats so I reckon it can hold up to 20 pax at each time.
