The Coffee Daily

The Coffee Daily's Sweet Compliments & Deco
Want to mug for your exams together with good food and drinks? Starbucks is always packed and you often find yourself stranded in a mall wondering around for somewhere appropriate for your notes and pens flying around?

Presenting to you...THE COFFEE DAILY. Discovered this place from several local food blogs and they all have pretty attractive descriptions of this cafe. ( Check out their Facebook Page for more information! )

We arrived just in time before the rain started pouring outside, sun was scorching but we managed to find our from the bus stop ( Aft Trinity Meth Ch) to 75 Brighton Crescent.

There were no indoor tables except at the counter or a high table which was quite crammed. The sofa and old fashioned chairs look so comfortable but we decided to sit at the counter while waiting for a vacant dining table. The hardcopy menu is not the complete food list, they also have mains like lasagne and pastas on their chalkboard menu. L decided to have the Sausage, ham, bacon, scrambled eggs set that comes with a choice of either Croissant, Foccacia or Ciabatta. You also get an Americano ( $4) but we topped up for the Triple Choc Milkshake ( $7.9). His set looks really scrumptious right!!! We definitely did not expect the sausage to be so huge! The scrambled egg was well-cooked and mixed with cheese and sprinkled with pepper, while the turkey ham and bacon were briefly pan fried though a little salty and it is preferred to eat them with the bread.
The Ultimate Breakfast Set ( With Americano) : $16.9
I ordered another drink for myself too- Ice Blended Caramel Mocha because the weather was too humid for a hot drink or else i would want to give Hot Baby Cino a try. ( sounds so cute right!!! )

Left: Ice Blended Caramel Mocha ($7) Right: Triple Choc Milkshake ( $7.5)
I personally prefer the Triple Choc Milkshake as it was very rich but not overly sweet at the same time. A large scoop of dark chocolate ice cream was added to concoct this calorie-laden but i-can't-keep-my-mouth-off-it-drink.

Laksa Lasagne ( $9)
The lasagne was actually recommended by one of the owners and i thought it was rather different from the usual spinach or beef that you get in restaurants. I saw them removing from the fridge and placing it in the dish to bake it. Although it isn't made on the spot, the taste was quite unique. L said i need to try other types of lasagne before i can tell if this is up to expectation. You can give this a miss if you're not in need for something heavy (:
Molten Lava Chocolate Cake ( $7.9)
I was looking at the cakes that many students were eating while mugging and decided to have a cake instead of the initial intention to get waffles. Having been craving for a warm molten lava cake for months, i finally managed to satisfy it. They heeded my request to warm it up longer so when i cut a corner of the cake, the chocolate oozed out gently. It was so sinful but totally worth it. Even the cake itself was chocolatey and neither too dry nor fluffy.

I will definitely come back for more. Orders for next visit will be the Ham-Egg-Cheese Croissant and waffle with ice cream!

The 2 girls manning the cafe are really friendly and give wise recommendations if you are a first-timer who cannot decide what to eat or drink. Furthermore, the water is free-flow and there are complimentary cute mini old-fashioned biscuits in glass jars.

Perfect for small groups and individuals. We were unusually noisy. Our voices and laughter towered over everyone else. Otherwise, it is really conducive to mug which was why 80% of the tables are perma taken. Whether you are here for the all-day breakfast, or simply just a cuppa coffee, it is a place you cannot miss.
