Burgers Wings Beer

Orchard Central has nothing but an endless variety of eateries to choose from. You can no longer say there's nothing to eat in town. There's more reasons to go to Somerset now that we have the over rated IIAO IIAO yogurt and the even greater victim of deceiving its customers - Honey Creme. I have to say their popularity has got to credit to their loyal customers who spams their Instagram and Facebook with pictures of these 'delicious' (looking) desserts. I wouldn't go into details but you may try it for yourself to get a better sense of how these actually taste like since you probably won't go a second time given the queue. 

I recently chanced upon B.W.B.. Well, I have seen it before and I believe it's presence is known amongst the working crowd nearby. Their drinks are reasonable and especially during this festive season, some alcohol are going at half price!!! How does that sound??? :))))) 

BWB occupies a pretty enormous area on Level 11 in Orchard Central with a hip and welcoming atmosphere that will probably draw your attention the moment you exit the lift right in front of the restaurant and bar. I was attracted by the American concept menu and beers and burgers and wings? Can it get any cooler? Fries are free flow on Sundays to Thursdays. Whilst add ons for free flow of Tapas and Desserts are at $4.90++ and $7.90++ for lunch and dinner respectively. 




Wings here are finger licking good. I've tried a couple of the different flavours here and I must say all the buffalo wings have their unique selling point. Choose from spicy to non spicy to buttery ones. 

I did not try the burgers as they are mostly beef. But they have bakwa burgers during CNY period. A little overpriced for just the burger itself as the sides of fries come at an additional cost. 


Fries these days comes in all sorts of varieties. Their mixed basket of sweet potato, yam and potato fries is my love. 


Drinks here are a steal though. Whether you go on a weekday or weekend, their prices are like happy hour all day long. Chill your night away with your group of friends at this casual bar and restaurant.

I know it can be frustrating if you can't make up your mind between the three roasted meat stalls and four other dim sum stalls. They all look the same but you know surely one of those stalls is the famous one which your grandparents and parents grew up eating.  Today, I'd introduce to you one of the best dimsum and roast meats non-restaurant style, together with some new findings in the current People's Park Complex.  It has been a long while since I last wowed at the dimsum before me. The stall only displays a pathetic number of dishes in the glass cabinet as compared to Ho Kee which display a wide myriad of choices. Yet... 道记(Chop Hean Kuan) 's dimsums sells like hot cakes. The price range is not large, cheapest at 90c for items like the ugly looking yet tempting siew mai, egg tarts and 韭菜角, the most expensive item is 2 bucks for the 糯米鸡. The mini char siew bao was heaven. I seldom fancy this because it feels  often feels like eating marinated card board.

Jimoto-Ya (Singapore)

Sometimes, i wished there isn't so many new restaurants sprouting around our tiny island everyday (pocket is bleeding), but at times, i am exhilarated especially when something like Jimoto-Ya is in town! Thanks to one of Jimoto-Ya's sake supplier who strongly recommended the place, that i had to try it right away. And in a week, there goes 2 meals at Jimoto-Ya. I was there on a weekday afternoon and a weekend night respectively. Both experience were unique on its own yet similar in the right points.  From top: Ebi Shoyu Ramen Set (19 SGD), Curry Rice Set (19 SGD), Ebi Shio Ramen Set (19 SGD) Lunch and dinner menu are the same at the moment with ramen and rice sets taking the limelight. For lunch, i shared the above 3 sets with my 2 girlfriends who were as delighted as me to eat them the second the food was served. Tendon Kohaku's 2nd outlet!

Ever since I chanced upon Tendon Hokaku (even though I've read so much about it before that plus all the instagram spams on my wall) at its 1st outlet at Suntec, been missing it. Just that the queue can be quite a pain especially during the peak hours. So there's also peak periods for dining nowadays!  It's opening at Circular Road last week has caused such a hype especially amongst the working crowd in the area. CBD IS HAPPENING TOO!    Quickly, the queue has formed with longer queue times as the days go by. I went on a Wednesday at 1pm and the waiting time was 15 mins, better than I expected. Then on Thursday, it became 40 mins. I'm not sure how long it'll be in the days to come. But if you all agree with me, the perpetual queue is a good sign too!    The cosy outlet has about 6-7 tables and some counter seats so I reckon it can hold up to 20 pax at each time.
